Final Exterior Rendering 1.21.16DES MOINES, Iowa – Prairie Meadows has awarded a $100,000 Legacy Grant to Mercy Foundation for the construction of the Mercy Comfort Health Center for Women. The center will be located on the first level of the Mercy West Medical Clinic at 1601 NW 114th Street in Clive and will provide comprehensive services which are vital to a woman’s health and wellness during midlife. The facility is currently under construction and is projected to open for patients beginning in spring of 2017.

The center will be the first of its kind in Iowa. The center’s physicians and staff will connect women to preventative and specialty medical services at one convenient location with a warm and inviting environment. It will serve women from the Greater Des Moines area and beyond. “We are excited and honored to be a part of this significant project for Mercy and women in the community,” said Julie Stewart, Director of Community Relations for Prairie Meadows.

“We are extremely pleased to have received this grant from Prairie Meadows,” said Leisha Barcus, Director of the Mercy Comfort Health Center for Women. “This grant is helping us to reach our fundraising goal for this important project. The Comfort Health Center for Women will make available a team of specialists, all located in one convenient location, to bring quality health care and support to women as they enter midlife and beyond.  By providing this funding, Prairie Meadows is helping empower women to address their unique healthcare challenges and achieve their best quality of life.”  The center is being made possible, in part, through an $8.5 million gift from the Comfort Family Foundation.
