The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines has awarded a $100,000 Leadership Grant to Mercy Foundation for House of Mercy to repurpose an existing wing of the building into a Mental Health Center for current clients and the general community. The transformation will increase the number of health care professionals on staff and allow for a projected 9,000 hours of additional appointment times at House of Mercy, one of Iowa’s largest and most comprehensive providers of vital services for persons with substance use disorders.

“Mercy Foundation is incredibly grateful to receive this generous gift from the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. This contribution will not only guide the vital, integrated care at the new House of Mercy Mental Health Center, but also it will continue to shape the ongoing mental health progress in our community,” said Mercy Foundation President Shannon Cofield.
