2019 MercyOne House of Mercy Game Show Gala Details Announced

Des Moines, Iowa, Thursday, March 28, 2019 – The 2019 MercyOne House of Mercy Game Show Gala presented by Nationwide and produced by MercyOne Des Moines Foundation, will take place 6-9 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Downtown Des Moines.

The 10th annual Gala is a fun-spirited game show-style fundraiser for MercyOne House of Mercy, one of Iowa’s largest and most comprehensive providers of vital services for persons with substance use disorders, especially parenting women with children. This year’s event goal is to raise $400,000 and the 2019 co-chairs are Monni and Brian Chittenden and Beth and Tim Coonan.

“We are very much looking forward to a record-breaking 10th annual MercyOne House of Mercy Game Show Gala,” said Beth Coonan, Attorney at BrownWinick and MercyOne House of Mercy Board Member. “Our game show teams represent MercyOne House of Mercy impact areas, including: alcoholism, childhood trauma, methamphetamine addiction and mental health. We are excited to raise funds to help address these compelling needs.”

“It is my great pleasure to co-chair this event that impacts the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in our community,” said Brian Chittenden, President and CEO of Legacy Bank and MercyOne Des Moines Foundation Board Member. “Quality care affects our community, and we are excited to utilize these funds in meaningful ways that have a lasting impact on our clients at MercyOne House of Mercy, which has one of the highest success rates of any treatment program of its kind in Iowa.”

Established in 2010, the Gala has raised more than $2.1 million for MercyOne House of Mercy. In fiscal year 2018, the organization served 2,833 clients through recovery, halfway housing, permanent housing, adolescent group living, substance abuse and mental health treatment.
