Remembering Maddie and Zoey: Mickle Twins Memorial Gifts

his post is written by Michelle and Mike Mickle, who are remembering their angel twins in a special way:
On March 7, 2019, our lives were forever changed. Maddie Jo and Zoey Lynn were born sleeping at MercyOne Des Moines. They are our perfect little angels.
Even though their time with us here on Earth was cut way too short, we are forever grateful for the Cuddle Cot. This small cooling system allowed us to spend two blessed days with our twin daughters. Maddie and Zoey were right by our bedside. We were able to hold them and love them. Time we will cherish forever.
This time is often much shorter for other families that do not have use of a Cuddle Cot. In such a heartbreaking experience, moms and dads should not have to tell their baby or babies goodbye so soon. They should be able to spend time with them and cherish those precious moments.
We are forever grateful that in such a time of sadness, another family was so generous in giving, so that others who experience this horrific event, can spend time with their angel babies.
Many have asked if there is anything we need. Right now, we appreciate prayers, love, and support—now and in the days, weeks, and months to come.
It was in those moments after we had gotten home from the hospital, that we decided we needed to pay it forward. We wanted to do something to help others who were faced with this tragedy in life.
Currently, we have made it our mission to help fund another Cuddle Cot that will be given in honor of our beautiful baby girls.
Our goal is to raise $3,500 dollars, which will be given in honor of Maddie and Zoey to MercyOne Des Moines Children’s Hospital. These funds will then be used to purchase an additional Cuddle Cot and replace parts on the current one. Any additional funds above and beyond will be placed in a bereavement fund that helps support needs of bereaved parents.
