Sophia S. Ahmad Named to Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s 2019 40 Under 40 List

MercyOne Des Moines Foundation Senior Director of Development Sophia S. Ahmad has been named to the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s (AHP) 2019 40 Under 40 List.

AHP’s 40 Under 40 program is designed to recognize future leaders within the health care philanthropy community. AHP honors these 40 young professionals for their leadership in shaping the health care development industry. Honorees were chosen by a peer review committee and were evaluated on tangible fundraising results, field accomplishments and community leadership.

Ahmad was particularly recognized for working with international teams to digitize a major annual campaign, increasing contributed revenue and number of donors for the Foundation’s signature fundraising event and overhauling and expanding donor cultivation, stewardship and external relations programs.

“Sophia is part of a select group of health care philanthropy leaders who have demonstrated impressive career achievements, deep community involvement and the potential to be a leader in our profession for years to come,” said Alice Ayres, AHP President & CEO.

Honorees will be recognized at the 2019 AHP Annual International Conference held October 23-26 in Washington, D.C.
