Lisa PagelMercyOne Des Moines Foundation Grants Manager, Lisa Pagel, recently received the Grant Professional Certification (GPC) credential, a nationally recognized credential through the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI). The GPC certification is based on rigorous standards and ongoing research. Lisa is one of six Iowans to hold this credential.

In order to be eligible for the GPC credential, Lisa had to meet certain requirements across four professional areas: education, experience, professional development and community involvement and successfully demonstrate proficiency in each. Lisa has been leading grant work at the Foundation for 11 years and has helped receive and manage hundreds of grants for MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center and affiliates.

“A couple of things motivated me to receive this credential,” said Lisa. “I think it’s important to support the development of the grant profession and I knew the knowledge and skills I would gain through this process would better myself and the work I do.”

The Foundation works with many of MercyOne Des Moines’ service lines and affiliates to secure vital funding to help ensure equal access, clinical excellence and high quality care for all in Des Moines and surrounding communities.

Lisa is proud to hold the GPC credential and is excited to continue to learn, grow and elevate the grant profession through her work at the Foundation.

“The better we are able to receive and manage grants, the better we can help our organization and those it is serving in the community,” said Lisa. “I am proud to come to the Foundation every day knowing the work I am doing is helping support the important programs and services of MercyOne Des Moines.”
