Donor Spotlight: Dr. Daniel DiMeo

MercyOne Pediatric Gastroenterologist, Daniel DiMeo, M.D., gives back to bless others. Through his philanthropic giving, he is paying forward what he has been blessed with.

MercyOne Des Moines Foundation’s 2019 Annual Campaign is underway. Contributions to this campaign can be designated to a variety of funds, impacting the services, programs and areas donors care about most at MercyOne Des Moines. Dr. DiMeo contributed to this year’s annual campaign, designating his gift towards the MercyOne Children’s Hospital.

“My hope is that my contributions will help cover different needs within the Children’s Hospital,” said Dr. DiMeo.

Serving as a physician, Dr. DiMeo already gives a lot of his time and talents back to MercyOne Des Moines and to his patients. He expressed that giving his treasure is a way he can show gratitude for the support and opportunities he has received.

“As physicians, we are generally financially blessed allowing us to be a blessing to others by giving back to the needs of the community and our patients,” said Dr. DiMeo. “We can do that by supporting MercyOne Des Moines, which serves the community.”

This year’s Annual Campaign so far has raised over $560,000 for MercyOne Des Moines and affiliates like House of Mercy, Mercy College of Health Sciences and more. Dr. DiMeo encourages other MercyOne Des Moines physicians to consider contributing, no matter the amount, as the sum of the collective contribution would impact the patients and community being served every day.

“It’s about helping the people our institution serves,” said Dr. DiMeo.
