Ways To GIve
Spirit of Mercy
or more than 110 years, the mission of the Sisters of Mercy has been to care for the whole person, and their loved ones while providing world-class health care. Their sacred mission remains alive even today, through the generosity of those who give to the Spirit of Mercy Annual Employee Campaign. Funds raised help support Mercy’s vital initiatives including Mercy Hospice, Mercy Cancer Center, Bishop Drumm Retirement Center, House of Mercy, Mercy College of Health Sciences’ Scholarship Fund, Pastoral Care and Mercy’s Area of Greatest Need. Donors may donate to the area of their choice.
By contributing to the annual campaign, Mercy’s leadership, physicians, employees, students, vendors and community members provide a helping hand to people when their need is the greatest.
Catherine McAuley Society
The Sisters of Mercy were founded by Catherine McAuley in Dublin, Ireland in 1831. Her lifelong examples of mercy and compassion guided the Sisters to begin Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines in 1893. The Catherine McAuley Society was created to honor Catherine McAuley and the generous people who have included Mercy in their estate plans. Planned gifts might include will or bequests or living trusts, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, life insurance, IRA or retirement plan assets, personal residences or farms with retained life estate plans. These types of gifts help Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines continues the compassionate mission of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy.
When a family member or dear friend have been touched by the excellent medical care available through Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines, you might consider honoring the life of your loved one, by making a memorial gift through Mercy Foundation.
