2013 Spirit of Mercy Campaign
Touching Lives - Today and Everyday - Through the Spirit of Mercy
Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy once stated, “Our name is Mercy; our Spirit is compassion.” Truly, this statement has been lived out by the generosity of Mercy’s family once again through the annual Spirit of Mercy campaign.
Each year, Mercy employees, physicians, volunteers, vendors and community friends respond to the Spirit of Mercy campaign with generosity, and compassion. The effort raises money for various Mercy initiatives including Mercy Hospice, Bishop Drumm Retirement Center, House of Mercy, Mercy Cancer Center, scholarships for students at Mercy College of Health Sciences, Employee Relief, Pastoral Care as well as the Area of Greatest Need.
The generosity of Mercy’s family provides care for our most vulnerable patients. It truly is an example of the legacy given to us by Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy. Julie Younger, Chief Administrative Officer at Iowa Heart Center and Dr. Philip Colletier, Medical Director at Mercy Medical Center Radiology Oncology are serving as 2013 Spirit of Mercy co-chairs.
The Spirit of Mercy campaign kicks off September 24, 2013 and continues through June 30, 2014. Gifts can be made by contacting Mercy Foundation at (515) 247-3248.
